Recoats British Pub opens downtown Pleasanton.
December 16, 2007 by Gordon Corsie · 1 Comment
The much anticipated opening of the new Pleasanton downtown pub finally happened last night and a successful night it was! Named after the uniform of British soldiers in the 18th Century this unique establishment is British owned and operated and provides traditional
food and a fine selection of ales from the UK.
A traditional bar is light bright and cheery and the smartly dressed wait staff had us quickly seated at one of the several indoor tables. When the weather warms there will be patio seating outside available.
If you like fish and chips this is definitely the place to be as many of the cooking staff are already well versed in the traditional British style after having been transferred from the sister restaurant in Danville.
There are however many lighter dishes available, vegetarian and a classic ceasar salad which is very good indeed.
Atmosphere is definitely very family oriented and there is something on the menu for most ages and tastes.
Service was quick friendly and efficient, the food excellent, and I would recommend the guiness stout.
There are many flat screen Televisions for watching sporting events such as hard to find european and world soccer games. Later on at nights Redcoats plans to show music videos on their cutting edge video and sound system. Upstairs has a lounge which features cream leather and very comfortable upholstery. This lounge can be reserved for functions or business meetings.

Redcoats plans to be open during the day and in fact will be the only Bar and Restaurant open downtown Pleasanton in the afternoon. It is sure to be a great success and a common meeting spot for dinner or a drink after work.
